Container Trailer

A container trailer is a type of semi-trailer designed to carry shipping containers. It is commonly used for transporting goods over long distances, especially in international shipping, intermodal freight transport, and logistics. While the most common container sizes are 20 ft and 40 ft containers, the semi-trailer can also carry larger containers, such as 30 ft or even 45 ft, depending on the specific design. Armatech can produce 20, 30, 40, 45 ft container trailers with 4 to 12 locks. This model is also well known as a trombone trailer, which at 40 ft length can be extended to 45 ft pneumatically. Container trailers can be customized according to customer demand. Container semi-trailers are versatile and widely used in various industries for transporting goods. Their usage areas include:

Shipping and Logistics:

  • International Cargo Transport: Container semi-trailers are crucial for transporting goods across countries and continents. They are designed to fit into shipping containers, making them ideal for ocean freight and rail transport.

  • Port Operations: These trailers are used in ports for loading and unloading containers from ships, connecting sea transport with land transport.

Freight and Haulage:

  • Long-Distance Haulage: Commonly used by trucking companies for long-distance haulage of various goods, including raw materials, manufactured products, and consumer goods.

  • Warehouse Distribution: Used to move goods between warehouses, distribution centers, and retail locations, optimizing storage and transportation.

Retail and Consumer Goods:

  • Retail Supply Chains: Retailers use container trailers to move large quantities of products from manufacturers to retail stores or distribution centers.

  • Temperature-Controlled Goods: For perishable items, refrigerated container semi-trailers (reefers) are used to transport goods like food, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive items.

Automotive Industry:

  • Vehicle Transport: Container trailers are used to transport finished vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles) from manufacturing plants to dealerships or other destinations.

  • Parts and Components: Used to carry auto parts and components for assembly plants.

Agriculture:

  • Bulk Agricultural Products: Container trailers are used to transport bulk agricultural products such as grains, fruits, vegetables, and livestock feed.

  • Refrigerated Transport: For transporting perishable agricultural products, refrigerated trailers are commonly used.
